CMR Institute of Management Studies is a part of the CMR Group of Institutions managed by a selfless and committed team of educationists whose passion has created a distinct mark in the field of higher education. CMRIMS is NAAC accredited institution established in the year 1995.It currently houses 6 undergraduate and 8 postgraduate programmes in the fields of Management, Commerce ,Bio-sciences and Humanities, with the student strength of 2400. It is a recognized research centre under the auspices of the Bnagalore University and Rayalaseema and Annamalai Universities, in the departments of Bio-science and Management. CMRIMS has been conferred with autonomous status from the academic year 2009-10. It is the only self-financing Institution in Bangalore to have received this status from the UGC.

CMRIMS celebrated Graduation Day 2010 on the 5th of May, Wednesday, at 10 am. Over 700 students from various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes graduated.

 It began with the academic procession comprising the Chief Guest, Guests of Honour, Members of the Board of Management, Heads of CMR Group of Institutions, Heads of various departments of CMRIMS and the Principal of CMRIMS. This was followed by an invocation and a prayer by the President of the Student Council. Prof. Suja Bennet, Principal welcomed the gathering after which the graduating students shared their experiences. Prof. Susheela Rajan, HOD, Dept. of English, CMRIMS represented the faculty in her address to the students. A parent from Iran performed for the graduating students. The Chairperson Shri K C Ramamurthy (IPS), CMR Group of Institutions, addressed the graduates. The University rank holders were felicitated on this occasion.

Dr D V Guruprasad (IPS), the Chief Guest, delivered the Commencement Address, sharing his student days and speaking from the heart. This was followed by the graduation ceremony wherein the lamp of knowledge was lit, the graduation oath was taken and the Course Completion Certificates were given to the graduates. President, Dr.Sabitha Ramamurthy in her address congratulated the graduates and wished them well.

The event was rounded off with the National Anthem being sung. A sumptuous lunch was hosted for the gathering.
