Eligibility Criteria for admission to various UG courses as per Bangalore University Rules and Regulations
BBM (Bachelor of Business Administration)
Candidate who has passed the two year Pre-University examination/Equivalent
B.Com (Bachelor of Commerce)
Candidate who has passed the two year Pre-University examination/Equivalent.
Candidate who has passed Diploma in Secretarial/Commercial Practice conducted by the Board of Technical Examination, Karnataka may also be held eligible for admission directly to II Year / III Sem B.Com degree course.
Candidates who have passed Diploma in Business Administration conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education in Karnataka may be held eligible for admission to I Yr/Sem B.com degree course.
BCA (BACHELOR OF COMPUTER APPLICATION)
Any candidate who has passed two year PUC or equivalent examination in Science, Arts or Commerce stream securing a minimum of 35% of marks.
OR
Any candidate who has passed JODC or Diploma in Engg (of Three Years duration of Govt of Karnataka) with a minimum of 35% of marks in aggregate in all the semesters/years.
B.Sc (Chemistry, Botany, Biotechnology)
A Candidate who has passed the two year Pre-University examination consisting of at least two science subjects with Biology as an optional subject.
B.Sc., (Chemistry, Botany, Microbiology)
A Candidate who has passed the two year Pre-University examination consisting of at least two science subjects with Biology as an optional subject.
B.Sc (Chemistry, Botany, Genetics)
A Candidate who has passed the two year Pre-University examination consisting of at least two science subjects with Biology as an optional subject.

Eligibility Criteria for admission to various PG courses as per Bangalore University Rules and Regulations of 2008-09
MBA (MASTER  OF  BUSINESS  ADMINISTRATION)
A Candidate who has passed Bachelor degree examination with not less than 50% of marks in aggregate in all the three years of Degree examination.
Note: Candidates must have taken up MAT/KMAT
MAT cut off score is 500
MCA (MASTER OF COMPUTER  APPLICATIONS)
The candidate shall have passed Bachelor degree with not less than 50% of marks with Mathematics / Statistics / Computer Science / Computer Programming / Computer Applications / Business Mathematics / Business Statistics as one of the optionals or electives at degree level. Provided further that in respect of candidate who have studied and passed one of the subjects specified in the first proviso in the pre-university course with 50% of marks in that subject shall also be considered for admission.
Note: Admission for MCA courses through CET conducted by VTU/KMAT
M.Com., (MASTER OF COMMERCE)
A candidate who has passed the B.Com/B.B.M. Degree Examination of this University or of any other University recognized thereto and has secured not less than 50% marks in aggregate in Commerce subjects in all the examinations of the B.Com/BBM course shall be eligible for admission to the course.
M.Sc.,(BIOCHEMISTRY)
Candidate must have secured 40% in aggregate studied chemistry or biochemistry as one of the cognate subjects securing 50% marks at B.Sc level and studied Biology at PUC/10+2 level.
M.Sc., (MICROBIOLOGY) & M.Sc., (BIOTECHNOLOGY)
A) B.Sc, degree of Bangalore University or any other University equivalent thereto with 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ST/ Category-I) of all the three optionals. The applicant should have studied Chemistry / Biochemistry compulsorily as an optional subject along with at least one of the following.

B) Students who have passed B.Sc., Biotechnology / B.Sc., Biotechnology (integrated) Scored 50% marks in the aggregate provided they have studied Biochemistry as one of the papers
C)Students who have passed B.Sc., Honours in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Botany, Zoology or Biology are also eligible with 50% marks in aggregate of all the optionals.
The following Graduates are also eligible (In absence of A, B and C) with 50% mark in aggregate
Bachelor in Agricultural Science
Bachelor in Dairy Sciences
Bachelor in Horticulture
Bachelor in Forestry
Bachelor in Fisheries
Bachelor in Pharmacy
Bachelor in Engineering (Biotechnology)
MSW(MASTER OF SOCIAL WORK)
A Bachelor’s degree in any subject or equivalent degree of a recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks.
M.Sc.,(Psychology)
Candidates with 40% of marks in aggregate of all the optional subjects, Psychology as one of the subjects and 50% of marks in the cognate subject at the Bachelor’s degree level.
PG DIPLOMA COURSES
Candidates with 40% marks in aggregate in Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree of a recognized University are eligible for admission. Candidate studying in a regular course of study in any discipline are not eligible for admission. Preference will be given to candidates sponsored by a Business or Industrial concern.

MS (COMMUNICATION)
JOURNALISM CANDIDATES
Candidates who have passed Bachelor degree with 50% of marks in the aggregate of all the examinations of the degree in the optional subjects of Journalism shall be eligible for admission.
NON JOURNALISM GRADUATES
Candidates who have passed the bachelor’s degree examination of Bangalore University or any other University recognized as equivalent with 50% of marks in aggregate of all the subjects including the languages are eligible as per the Bangalore University rules.
MASTER OF SCIENCE IN ELECTRONIC MEDIA
Any Graduate with a Second Class Bachelor Degree with minimum of 50% /  Journalism Graduate with Second Class / any graduate working with TV channel, TV / Film production houses, provided he/she has secured 50% in optional subjects.
